Report: Arsenal confident of beating Spurs to land free agent this summer

The Daily Mail claim that Arsenal are confident of beating Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of Ryan Fraser this summer.

Fraser’s contract with Bournemouth runs out at the end of the season and there has been plenty of speculation about the winger’s future over the past month.

The 26-year-old is said to be the subject of a battle between Spurs and Arsenal, with both the North London sides reportedly keen on snapping him up (90min).

However, it was previously claimed that the Lilywhites were leading the race for the Scotland international (Mirror).

Fraser himself apparently told his friends that he would prefer a move to Spurs (Football Insider). However, it has been suggested that Jose Mourinho has his doubts over whether the Bournemouth star is good enough for the Lilywhites (Express).

The Daily Mail have now contradicted previous reports and installed Arsenal as the front runners for Fraser. They suggest that the Gunners are confident of getting a deal over the line for the winger when he becomes a free agent.

The fact that both ourselves and Arsenal have been linked with Fraser and Willian is interesting. I suspect that Willian is the preferred option for both clubs and Fraser is likely the fall-back in case they cannot get a deal for the Brazilian over the line.
