Report: Arsenal considering bid for winger recently linked with Tottenham

Football Insider have claimed that Arsenal have been alerted to the availability of Barcelona winger Raphinha, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham this summer.

While Raphinha has 10 goals and 11 assists to his name across all competitions this season, it emerged recently that the Barca hierarchy have not been entirely convinced by the attacker.

This was a claim that was carried by AS last week, with the outlet reporting that the Catalan club are willing to cash in on the former Leeds United star in order to help fund a move to re-sign Lionel Messi.

The publication stated that Barca would be ready to listen to any big-money offers for the 26-year-old from the Premier League, with Spurs said to be keeping a close eye on the player.

If Football Insider’s latest update is to be believed, the Lilywhites may face competition from their North London rivals, Arsenal for Raphinha’s signature.

The report explains that while signing a winger is not a priority for Mikel Arteta this summer, the Gunners have been ‘long-term admirers’ of the former Leeds man and do not want to turn down the opportunity to sign the player.

It is asserted that Barca value Raphinha at around £50m-£60m, with Arsenal now considering submitting a bid for him in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham certainly need reinforcements to their frontline in the summer and Raphinha would provide Kulusevski with useful competition for his place in the side.

However, it would be quite difficult to attract the 26-year-old to the club if we do not have Champions League football to offer next season.
