Report: Arsenal could make offer for rumoured Spurs target in the summer

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will take up the £40.9m option to sign Carlos Vinicius permanently at the end of the season.

The Brazilian has done a good job as Harry Kane’s backup this season and has shown glimpses of real quality, although he continues to be used sparingly by Jose Mourinho.

Reports have indicated that Tottenham could instead move for other strikers in the summer, with Danny Ings being mentioned as a potential target.

One other name who has previously been linked with the North Londoners’ is Celtic striker, Odsonne Edouard.

The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham in the summer, with reports revealing that the club’s scouts had watched him multiple times and were left impressed by what they had seen.

It now looks as though Arsenal could swoop for the French striker ahead of Spurs, with The Guardian reporting that the Gunners are eyeing a summer move for Edouard.

The report reveals that Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his striking options ahead of next season and is keen on bringing the Celtic star to the Emirates.

While the standard of Scottish football leaves a lot to be desired, it is clear that Edouard is going to be a star in the future. He is unlikely to cost a fortune and so it would be a mistake if we allow Arsenal to snap him up.
