The Standard have revealed that Arsenal could decide to challenge Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez this summer.

Gimenez has had two prolific seasons at Rotterdam and is being widely tipped to leave De Kuip this summer and make a step up to a bigger club in a more high-profile competition.
Tottenham have been repeatedly mooted as a potential destination for the centre-forward, with several sources suggesting over recent weeks that the Mexican is at the top of the Lilywhites’ striker wishlist (GiveMeSport).
Earlier this month, Transfer expert Graeme Bailey told Rousing The Kop that Spurs are favourites to beat Liverpool to the Feyenoord star’s signature this summer despite Arne Slot taking over at Anfield.

However, it now turns out that Ange Postecoglou’s men might also have to contend with competition from their North London rivals for Gimenez.
The Standard explain that Arsenal were prioritising a deal for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko but with the Slovenian now expected to sign a new deal at the Red Bull Arena, they are ready to turn their attention to other alternatives.
It is alleged that one of the alternatives that they have identified is Gimenez, who is seen as a good fit for the profile that the Gunners are after.

I am not convinced that Gimenez is near the top of Tottenham’s wishlist.
I suspect that the decision-makers at Spurs are not fully convinced about the 23-year-old, which is why they appear to be studying other alternatives.
