Report: Arsenal enter race for 21-year-old winger Spurs are allegedly interested in

According to Area Napoli, Arsenal are set to step up their pursuit of Rubin Kazan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is also thought to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Spurs and AC Milan were reported to both be eyeing a move for Kvaratskhelia last summer, with the winger said to be valued at around €18m (£15.5m) at the time (Sempre Milan).

Gazzetta dello Sport claimed last month that Tottenham have already made advances towards a summer deal for the winger.

Il Mattino claimed a few days ago that the Georgian international did not want to continue playing in Russia following their invasion of Ukraine and added that Leeds and Napoli were set to challenge Spurs for the player’s signature.

Area Napoli have now suggested that Luciano Spalletti’s side are leading the race for Kvaratskhelia’s signature and are hopeful of landing him for around €15m (£12.6m).

However, Arsenal are alleged to have entered the race for the winger after closely monitoring the player for some time. The report adds that Napoli fear that the Gunners’ interest could turn Kvaratskhelia’s head.

Spurs Web Opinion

I can understand why there is so much interest in Kvaratskhelia as his ball-carrying ability is exceptional and he is still very young. However, I do not see him being a good fit for Conte’s system unless the Italian plans to convert him into a wing-back. So, I would be surprised if Spurs make a move for the 21-year-old.
