Report: Arsenal enter race to sign centre-back also linked with Tottenham

Fanatik have now claimed that Arsenal have emerged as a contender for Galatasaray’s Victor Nelsson, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

There is no doubt that strengthening at centre-back will be one of Tottenham’s top priorities this summer, with 90 min reporting on Thursday that Ange Postecolgou has already given the green light for the club to make a move for a central defender.

Nelsson, who has been one of the standout defenders in the Turkish top flight over the last two seasons, is one of the names thought to be on Tottenham’s radar, with Takvim reporting a few days ago that the Lilywhites are at the front of the queue to snap up the Dane.

Tottenham have competition for Nelsson

However, according to Fanatik’s latest update, the 24-year-old has now emerged as a target for Arsenal while Sevilla are also keeping a close eye on his situation.

The report states that while Nelsson is expected to leave Galatasaray this summer, interested clubs would have to meet the player’s €25m (£21.4m) release clause.

In fact, it is said that the Turkish club have already turned down offers in the region of €15m- €16m (£12.9m-£13.7m) for the centre-back.

Spurs Web Opinion

Turkish news outlets have a history of reporting baseless transfer stories and no reliable source has suggested so far that Nelsoon is on Tottenham’s radar this summer.

I suspect that Spurs will be looking at options within the Premier League to strengthen at centre-back, with homegrown options such as Marc Guehi, Harry Maguire and Max Kilman likely to be at the top of the club’s wishlist
