Report: Arsenal have £27m offer accepted for Spurs target

According to a report in Le10Sport (as relayed by The Sun), Arsenal could be about to seal a move for rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target, Gabriel Magalhaes, after having a bid accepted by Lille for the central defender.

The 22-year-old has been extremely consistent at the back for Lille since breaking into Christophe Galtier’s side and has seemingly become a wanted man across Europe.

Foot Mercato previously reported that Spurs and Napoli were competing for the Brazilian’s signature this summer, with Lille open to cashing-in on him.

The defender has also admitted that a move to the Premier League would appeal to him (L’Equipe).

However, Le10Sport now reveal that Arsenal had a free run at Magalhaes after Manchester United, who were initially interested in the Lille star, moved on to other targets.

The Gunners have reportedly had a £27million offer for the defender accepted by Lille but it is claimed that the deal is not yet complete.

Spurs, Chelsea, and Everton are all said to hold interest in the centre-back while it is claimed that Napoli have not given up hope of bringing him to the Stadio Sao Paulo.

Spurs Web Opinion

I can understand why we seem to be linked with almost every centre-back who is available but we clearly are not as desperate for a central defender as the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal are. With reports also indicating a possible swap deal with Inter for Skriniar and Ndombele, I do not think we will be in a rush to sign a central defender just yet.
