Report: Arsenal interested in signing player who left Spurs three years ago

According to a report from The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur face plenty of competition in their efforts to bring Noni Madueke back to the club, with North London rivals, Arsenal also showing interest in the forward.

Madueke was highly rated while coming through the ranks in the Spurs academy but he rejected the club’s new contract offer in favour of a move to PSV Eindhoven in 2018.

The move has certainly worked out for the teenager, who established himself as an important part of Roger Schmidt’s starting eleven last season, finishing the campaign with 9 goals and 8 assists.

Reports emerged last week that Tottenham were exploring the possibility of bringing the 19-year-old back to the club this summer.

However, if The Sun are to be believed, Arsenal and Leicester are ready to offer Madueke a route back into English football.

The report also reveals that Borussia Dortmund are eyeing the former Spurs forward as a potential replacement for Jadon Sancho, who left to join Manchester United earlier this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given the potential Madueke is showing and the value of homegrown talent, it is not surprising that we would face competition from other Premier League clubs for the teenager.

If Spurs are seriously interested in bringing Madueke back, hopefully, the connection he has with the club would give us the edge over the likes of Leicester and Arsenal.
