According to a report by German news outet Bild, Arsenal are now leading Tottenham in the race for Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan N’Dicka.

N’Dicka has had an outstanding two years at the club since moving to Frankfurt from Auxerre and is considered to be one of the rising stars of the Bundesliga.

The Frenchman has had a couple of injury issues this season that have curtailed his progress but he has been in fine form since returning to full fitness.

Tottenham were one of a number of English clubs who were reported to be interested in the centre-back last summer.

Bild claim that Arsenal are now the front-runners for N’Dicka’s signature, with the Gunners look to bolster their backline.

Apart from the two North London clubs, Southampton are also said to hold an interest in the Frankfurt star.

However, it is suggested that Mikel Arteta’s side hold an advantage in the race for N’Dicka since the player is represented by the man who brokered Nicolas Pepe’s move to the Emirates, Michael N’Cho Ibou.

We badly need a competent left-sided centre-back N’Dicka certainly fits the bill in terms of his attributes as well as his profile. It remains to be seen who the club will move for in the summer but a major overhaul at the back is certainly necessary.
