Report: Arsenal leading race for striker despite claims Spurs have already made an offer

The latest reports from Italy indicate that Arsenal have moved ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Napoli striker, Arkadiusz Milik.

The speculation over Tottenham’s rumoured move for Milik has intensified over the past two weeks with multiple sources reporting that the Lilywhites are already in negotiations with Napoli over the striker.

Tuttosport (via Sport Witness) claimed that Tottenham had made a player plus cash offer for the 26-year-old while Sport Italia journalist, Alfredo Pedulla (as relayed by TuttoNapoli), claimed that the North Londoners were ‘pushing a lot’ to sign to the striker.

TuttoMercatoWeb have now provided an update on the centre-forward’s future. They claim that Milik, who has just one year left to run on his contract with Napoli, is increasingly likely to leave the San Paolo Stadium this season.

They suggest that Milik is likely to join an English club rather than a Serie A rival and insist that Arsenal are now the favourites to land the former Ajax star.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given how cash strapped Arsenal are, one would presume that we would be able to outbid them for Milik if we are interested in the striker. The only problem is that the Poland international might prefer a move to the Gunners since he is more likely to get regular game time at the Emirates stadium, particularly if they lose Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
