Report: Arsenal leading the race to sign midfielder allegedly wanted by Spurs

CalcioMercatoWeb.it have claimed that Arsenal are now the frontrunners to snap up rumoured Tottenham target Adrien Rabiot.

Rabiot’s current deal at Juventus runs out next summer and The Times reported two weeks ago that the French international had been offered to both Tottenham and Arsenal.

TuttoMercatoWeb revealed last week that Spurs are ‘moving decisively’ to snap up the Juventus star who was said to be ‘highly sought after’.

The report added that the former Paris Saint-Germain man had decided not to renew his current deal but he ‘is inclined’ to leave on a free transfer next summer rather than during this month.

CMW.it have now also asserted that Rabiot is generating a lot of interest, stating that ‘many teams’ from the Premier League are looking to grab him.

However, the publication adds that it is the Gunners who are ‘further ahead in the race’ for the midfielder, with Mikel Arteta’s men said to be plotting to sign him on a free transfer next summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

It seems highly likely that Rabiot will run his contract down and be snapped up by a Premier League club as a free agent. The Frenchman’s salary demands will likely be quite high and it remains to be seen if Tottenham will be willing to match what some other clubs offer him.
