Report: Arsenal make Christian Eriksen decision ahead of the January transfer window

The Daily Star has claimed that Arsenal have decided not to push ahead with a move for former Tottenham midfielder, Christian Eriksen when the transfer window reopens in January.

San Siro chief Giuseppe Marotta hinted earlier this week that if Eriksen asks to leave the club in January and that the club will not stand against his wishes (DAZN via Sky Sports).

Reports have indicated that Inter Milan could try and swap the Dane for Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, who Antonio Conte wants to sign to bolster the Nerrazuri midfield (Corriere dello Sport via The Sun).

The Daily Star claim that while Eriksen has been offered to Arsenal, the Gunners have decided to prioritise a move for a central defender instead.

With David Luiz, Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis all out of contract next summer, Arsenal are said to be scouting various centre-back options they can move for.

The report suggests that with Tottenham’s North London rivals walking away from a potential deal for Eriksen, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain are set to fight it out for the 28-year-old’s signature.
