Tottenham and Arsenal are going head to head for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, with the Gunners now favourites to land him ahead of Spurs on a season-long loan deal (Marca).
The 22-year-old, who was overlooked by Zinedine Zidane for many important games last season, was one of the stars of Spain’s successful European U-21 Championship campaign this summer.
The former Real Betis man has supposedly made it clear that he wants to play regularly this season in order to continue his development (The Sun).
The Mirror now claim that Ceballos is likely to travel to London this week to undergo a medical and complete his move to Arsenal. Spanish publication AS has reported that Arsenal manager Unai Emery directly spoke with the youngster and assured him that he would try and meet his expectations of playing 40 games next season.
It is suggested that Emery’s assurance had a major sway in the Spanish international’s decision to leave Real Madrid for the Emirates.

It looks like the season-long loan deal will come without an option to buy at the end of it. We would prefer the club to go for Lo Celso, who we believe will be a perfect fit for Pochettino’s system.
