Report: Arsenal move ahead of Tottenham in race for Premier League star

GiveMeSport report that Arsenal have now moved to the front of the queue ahead of Tottenham Hotspur for Wolves winger Pedro Neto in the summer.

Neto is currently in the form of his life and the winger is unsurprisingly thought to be on the radar of several of the Premier League’s heavy-hitters.

It has been widely reported over the last few weeks that Ange Postecoglou is keen on adding a top-class winger to his squad in the summer, with the Portuguese star being one of the names at the top of Spurs’ wishlist (Independent).

Arsenal now leading the race for Pedro Neto

However, GiveMeSport have now revealed that the Gunners are the front-runners to secure Neto in the summer, ahead of their North London rivals.

The report explains that Liverpool, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Manchester United have also expressed an interest in the 23-year-old but Mikel Arteta’s men are now leading the pack and are not afraid to splash the cash on the pacy wideman.

The outlet adds that a decision is not likely to be made on Neto’s future until the end of the European Championship, with Wolves hoping that a bidding war ensues so they can get a whopping £80m for their talisman.

Spurs Web Opinion

We will see transfer fees go down in the summer after the Premier League have shown an inclination to punish clubs who do not comply with the financial regulations.

I thus do not see too many £80m transfers happening in the summer and clubs would certainly be wary of paying such a fee for an injury-prone player like Neto.
