David Ornstein from The Athletic has reported that Arsenal are now ‘moving closer’ to agreeing on a deal that would see Ben White swap Brighton for the red side of North London.

The journalist reported that Brighton are still looking for a guaranteed £50m this summer for their star man who is currently on international duty with England at Euro 2020.

Face to face talks have reportedly taken place already and Arsenal are currently offering £45m plus £5m in add-ons, with talks ongoing over the payment structure and add-ons.

The Mirror reported earlier this month that Arsenal had joined Tottenham, Man United and Liverpool in the race for the English centre-back, who was rated at £50m.

However, The Athletic claim that Brighton have received no other bids from interested parties, meaning that Arsenal could have a clear run at the reported Spurs target.

Spurs Web Opinion:

While I hope and believe that White will become a great player, £50m is far too expensive for Spurs this summer. Instead, Levy and Paratici will be looking for £10m to £15m bargains in the transfer window.
