Report: Arsenal plot revenge for Tottenham’s Saliba hijacking

Tottenham Hotspur fans would have enjoyed some of the transfer rumours from week, as some reports claimed the club had hijacked Arsenal’s deal for William Saliba.

RMC claimed that Tottenham had swooped in and bid €30m for the 18-year-old St-Etienne centre-back, even offering to send the player back on loan to the French club.

The Guardian added that Arsenal were just a few minor details away from agreeing a deal with St-Etienne and had already actually confirmed a five-year deal with the player himself.

However, the Gunners may now be getting their own back on their North London rivals by marching for one of their transfer targets this summer.

Recent reports claim that Spurs are prepared to offer Alderweireld plus £36m for Roma winger, Nicolo Zaniolo (Calcio Mercato).

Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Arsenal are prepared to match any offers on the table for the young Italian, which could throw a spanner in the works for Spurs.
