Tottenham Hotspur fans would have enjoyed some of the transfer rumours from week, as some reports claimed the club had hijacked Arsenal’s deal for William Saliba.

RMC claimed that Tottenham had swooped in and bid €30m for the 18-year-old St-Etienne centre-back, even offering to send the player back on loan to the French club.

The Guardian added that Arsenal were just a few minor details away from agreeing a deal with St-Etienne and had already actually confirmed a five-year deal with the player himself.

However, the Gunners may now be getting their own back on their North London rivals by marching for one of their transfer targets this summer.

Recent reports claim that Spurs are prepared to offer Alderweireld plus £36m for Roma winger, Nicolo Zaniolo (Calcio Mercato).

Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Arsenal are prepared to match any offers on the table for the young Italian, which could throw a spanner in the works for Spurs.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Just media dribble as usual. Even if they were interested, how can they afford anything on their 50 mill budget!? Unless they sell a couple of their star players like Aubamayang and Lacazette, i don`t see them forking up 40mill plus for his services. They need to concentrate on Saliba and not anything else atm. But, this is just the media trying to stoke up some frustration and anger among the supporters like they normally do.

  2. Ask yourself, if you are a good player would you go to ARSEnal, a team in the second tier of Europe and next season in the PL also. You have to be insane. ARSEnal get your act together.
