Report: Arsenal preparing offer for former Spurs player

According to a report by Sport Mediaset (as relayed by Sempre Inter), Arsenal are preparing an opening offer for former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen ahead of the January transfer window.

Inter Milan chief executive Giuseppe Marotta hinted last week that Eriksen could leave the San Siro in January, just a year after arriving the club after he has struggled to adapt to Antonio Conte’s tactical plans (Sky Italia via Sky Sports).

ESPN claimed the Dane has been offered to Arsenal for a cut-price fee of around £12m ahead of the January transfer window and that the former Tottenham man is not opposed to joining the Gunners.

Sport Mediaset suggest that Mike Arteta’s side are ready to offer €12m (£10.8m) for the midfielder’s services and are hoping it would be enough to convince the Nerrazuri to sell.

This deal might also directly affect Tottenham’s transfer ambitions since the report claims that Inter could use the funds they receive from Eriksen’s sale to make a move to sign Arkadiusz Milik from Napoli.

Milik was on Tottenham’s radar during the previous transfer window and Jose Mourinho’s men have been backed to return for the striker’s services when the transfer window reopens in January (Tuttomercatoweb).
