HITC have revealed that Arsenal could be set to battle it out with Tottenham Hotspur for the services of RB Leipzig striker Lois Openda during next summer’s transfer window.
Earlier this month, Spurs signed Timo Werner on loan from Leipzig, with the Lilywhites reportedly having the option to make the deal permanent for around £15m next summer.
However, the German international is not the only Leipzig forward that Ange Postecoglou’s men have been tracking, with The Mirror reporting last month that Tottenham’s scouts had made several trips to Germany this season to watch his teammate Openda in action.
The centre-forward has been on fire since his switch from Lens to East Germany last summer, having found the back of the net 16 times in all competitions in all competition this season, including four in six in the Champions League (Transfermarkt).
However, the outlet explained that having paid €45m (£39m) for the Belgian international last summer, Leipzig valued the striker at £75m.

Arsenal now enter race for Lois Openda
HITC have now said that Arsenal are keen to add a top-class striker to their squad next summer and have now set their sights on Openda.
The publication states that the Gunners watched the 23-year-old in action against Bayer Leverkusen last weekend and were impressed by the player.
It is asserted that the two North London rivals could potentially find themselves in a bidding war for Openda’s services at the end of the season.
Spurs Web Opinion
Arsenal arguably need a top-quality number nine even more than Tottenham do. Spurs’ decision on which centre-forward to pursue next summer will depend on a number of factors, including whether Richarlison can maintain his current run of form and how well Timo Werner does over the next five months.
