Tottenham host Arsenal on Sunday

Tottenham’s chances of registering a win on Sunday have seemingly gone up over recent days as Arsenal’s injury list continues to mount.

The latest casualty was captain Martin Odegaard, who is now expected to be out of action for around three weeks after picking up an ankle injury while on international duty (Daily Mail).

Mikel Arteta’s men will also be without Declan Rice for the big clash after the midfielder was sent off in the 1-1 draw with Brighton.

Gabriel Jesus could return for Arsenal

However, the Gunners have now been handed a boost as Jesus is reported to have passed the fitness test ahead of the North London Derby.

GiveMeSport allege that the Brazilian is expected to be in contention to start at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this Sunday.

Additionally, defender Takehiro Tomiyasu is also said to have made ‘excellent progress’ on his road to recovery and could also feature in the derby.

However, the outlet adds that Riccardo Calafiori, who picked up an injury during the international break, remains a doubt while Mikel Merino continues to be sidelined.

Jesus will start upfront if he is fit, with Arteta likely to move Kai Havertz into midfield to play alongside Thomas Partey and Jorginho.

Bissouma, Sarr and Maddison will fancy themselves against that midfield three and Tottenham will likely have a lot of the ball (if Bissouma is passed fit, of course).
