Report: Arsenal set to be without four first-team players for Spurs clash

With the Premier League fixtures for the season now confirmed, it appears that Arsenal will be without four first-team players for the North London Derby.

There is an added hurdle for some Premier League teams to overcome this season in the form of the African Cup of Nations.

This season, the competition is due to take place from January 9 to February 6, meaning almost a month and around three games of missed Premier League action (Football London).

Therefore, any Arsenal players selected to take part in the tournament will miss the second North London derby of the season against Spurs on January 15.

Injuries and selections permitting, it looks as though four Gunners stars will miss the match, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon), Thomas Partey (Ghana), Nicolas Pepe (Ivory Coast) and Mohamed Elneny (Egypt).

Tottenham are at home for the January North London derby, but it appears as though they may have an extra advantage this time around.

Spurs Web Opinion:

This could be a huge advantage for Spurs in that January North London Derby, as Aubameyang, Pepe and Partey are all big players for the Gunners. With Spurs also being at home, it would be a humiliating match to walk away from without all three points.
