Report: Arsenal submit bid for winger linked with Spurs – Expected to be rejected

The Athletic have revealed that Arsenal have launched an official offer for Leeds United winger Raphinha, who is also said to be on Tottenham’s radar.

The report claims that although Spurs hold an interest in Raphinha, the Brazilian is not the Lilywhites’ first choice option this summer.

Tottenham’s North London rivals are said to have made contact with Leeds regarding the winger on Tuesday before sending a proposal.

However, it is explained that Arsenal’s offer falls well below Leeds’ valuation of the player and the bid is expected to be rejected out of hand.

The Athletic add that Raphinha would prefer to join Barcelona this summer but the Catalan giants’ pursuit of the winger is facing complications due to their financial problems.

The report states that the 25-year-old would also prefer a move to Chelsea over joining either Arsenal or Spurs this summer.

It is alleged that Leeds are sympathetic to Raphinha’s ambition and will not stand in the Brazilian international’s way if their valuation is met.

Spurs Web Opinion

While I think that Conte would prefer a player of Gabriel Jesus’ or Richarlison’s profile over Raphinha, I would be over the moon if we manage to get the Brazilian. That way, we could use Kulusevski as Kane’s backup upfront if the England captain needs a rest, which would allow Raphinha to slot in on the right.
