Report: Arsenal want midfielder who turned Spurs down in 2018

Adrien Rabiot was linked with a move to Tottenham last summer after running his contract down with Paris Saint-Germain (Calcio Mercato).

Mauricio Pochettino even personally called the midfielder to convince him to join Spurs, according to reports (France Football), but he turned down the Lilywhites in favour of a move to Juventus.

ESPN reported that Rabiot turned Spurs down in 2018 as he considered the Lilywhites to be below him.

However, things haven’t gone well for the 25-year-old in Turin as he has made only 17 league appearances, with more than half of those coming from the bench (trasnfermarkt).

There were reports in January that Spurs had sent scouts to watch the Frenchman and were considering making an offer to Juve (Calcio Mercato) but nothing came off it.

However, it looks as if the reigning Serie A Champions have decided to move Rabiot on after just one season at the Allianz Stadium, with Calciomercato24 now reporting that Arsenal have made a move for the midfielder.

Rabiot is said to have already spoken to Mikel Arteta about moving to the red side of North London.

Spurs Web Opinion

It was Mauricio Pochettino who wanted to bring him in last summer but I can’t see Jose Mourinho giving the green light to make a move for him. While I was hoping we would land Rabiot last summer, he has been extremely poor at Juve and so I wouldn’t be disappointed to see him join Arsenal.
