Report: Arsenal want to sign player who was previously in Spurs academy

According to Football.London, Arsenal want to sign striker Armando Broja, who was previously in Tottenham’s academy.

Broja, who is currently on loan at Southampton from Chelsea, is having an impressive campaign at the St Mary’s, having found the back of the net on eight occasions in all competitions, six of which have come in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).

Spurs fans will be well aware of the Albanian international’s qualities after he proved a handful for the Tottenham defence last week and found the back of the net in Saints’ 3-2 win over Antonio Conte’s men.

The 20-year-old, who was born in Berkshire, previously admitted to Chelsea’s official website that he was scouted by Tottenham when he was a kid and played for the Under-8s and Under-9s before moving to the Blues.

Football.London have revealed that Broja could now be on his way to the Emirates when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

Having lost Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and missed on Dusan Vlahovic in January, it is explained that the Gunners are keen to add firepower to the frontline and have identified Broja as a target.

Spurs Web Opinion

Broja has shown this season that he not only has an eye for goal but also that he is very much in the mould of a modern-day number nine.

He is capable of holding up the ball and combining well with his teammates while also possessing the ability to make runs in behind.

Spurs should consider moving for the 20-year-old if he is available in the summer but it remains to be seen if Chelsea would do business with us.
