CaughtOffside have claimed that Arsenal are well placed to win the race for Brentford striker Ivan Toney, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.
Toney will have just a year left on his contract at the Gtech Community Stadium next summer and the centre-forward thus looks set to be one of the hotly contested players of the window.
It was reported a couple of days ago by HITC that Tottenham are one of the clubs plotting a move for the 27-year-old after he decided against signing a new deal with the Bees.
The outlet explained that the Lilywhites will battle the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Chelsea for the England international’s signature.
On Monday, Football Insider also confirmed that Ange Postecoglou wants to sign an ‘A-list’ striker next summer, with the club ready to battle the Premier League’s heavy hitters for the Brentford star.

Arsenal may beat the likes of Spurs to Ivan Toney
CaughtOffside have now said that Thomas Frank’s men expect Toney to depart the club and are readying themselves for a summer auction. It is explained that the West London club will listen to offers starting from £55m for their talisman.
However, it is alleged that despite the likes of Man Utd entering the race for Toney, the Gunners are well-placed to win the race for the striker’s signature.
The publication adds that Mikel Arteta’s men are now ready to make an offer that would prove tempting for Brentford as well as the player.
Spurs Web Opinion
One can argue that the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea are in much more desperate need of a top-quality centre-forward than Spurs are. Those clubs might thus be willing to spend more on Toney than we are.
