Report: Arsenal will not challenge Spurs for French winger

It was reported earlier this month that Tottenham had already opened negotiations with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid over a possible deal for their winger Thomas Lemar (Foot Mercato).

This came after Diario AS claimed that Jose Mourinho, the current Spurs head coach, is a big fan of the ex-Monaco winger.

Unfortunately for Lemar, his big move from Monaco to Spain has not exactly gone to play, as he seems to have fallen down the pecking order below Joao Felix at Atletico.

Lemar has completed 90 minutes in La Liga just once this season, and has not yet registered a single goal or assist for the club (TransferMarkt).

The Mirror claimed that both Arsenal and Tottenham were interested in a move for the French winger, however, there has now been another twist in the story.

Goal have reported that Arsenal will not challenge Spurs for the player as they have a lack of funds and already the players they want in that position.
