Report: As many as seven Spurs players could miss Crystal Palace match

The Daily Mail have claimed that Emerson Royal could make his Tottenham Hotspur debut against Crystal Palace tomorrow lunchtime.

Spurs are the only club in the Premier League to still have a 100 per cent record, with the North London club yet to concede a goal in the top flight this season.

However, Nuno Espirito Santo will have a slimmer squad to pick from for Tottenham’s trip to Selhurst Park due to the developments during the international break.

While Cristian Romero, Giovani Lo Celso and Davinson Sanchez are unavailable due to the quarantining requirements with the trio still abroad, Son Heung-min is also a doubt after picking up a knock while being away with South Korea.

Steven Bergwijn, Oliver Skipp and Ryan Sessegnon also returned with problems from international duty, and The Mail suggest that Nuno might be without up to seven players for the trip.

It is suggested that Emerson, who has been training with the team at Hotspur Way this week, could be in line to start.

The right-back, who Spurs signed for £25.7m from Barcelona on transfer deadline day, took to social media earlier this week to admit that he is proud to be at the club and vowed to give his all.

With Romero and Sanchez available, Nuno might decide to partner Tanganga alongside Dier at centre-back and bring Emerson in at right-back. However, I suspect that Tanganga will remain at right-back and that Joe Rodon will replace Sanchez in the starting eleven. So, the Brazilian might have to wait a bit longer for his Premier League debut.
