Report: Aston Villa have presented ‘very interesting’ offer to alleged Conte target

CalcioMercato have revealed that Aston Villa have entered the race to sign AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham.

Kessie’s contract at the San Siro runs out in the summer and MilanNews.it claimed recently that Tottenham are currently the front-runners to sign the midfielder, having made the ‘most concrete offer’ for the player.

Barcelona are also thought to be keen on snapping up the 25-year-old as a free agent in the summer (Gianluigi Longari).

CalcioMercato have now revealed that Kessie has decided he will not be staying in Milan and is currently ‘spoilt for choice’, with several offers coming his way. One of those is thought to be from Inter Milan while another is from Barcelona.

Although the 25-year-old is said to find the prospect of a move to Camp Nou appealing, it is alleged that the offer from the Catalan giants is not the most attractive one financially.

Surprisingly, the report claims that Villa have now entered the race for Kessie and have made the midfielder a ‘very interesting’ offer.

Spurs Web Opinion

We would presumably be able to at least match Villa’s offer and the prospect of joining Spurs and working with Conte would likely be more appealing for Kessie than a move to Villa Park. However, one would expect a lot more clubs around Europe to make contact with the 25-year-old over the coming months.
