The Guardian have revealed that Aston Villa might have an advantage over Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Conor Gallagher as Chelsea are interested in securing Villa striker Jhon Duran this summer.

Tottenham and Aston Villa both like Conor Gallagher
It has been widely reported by various outlets that Villa are one of Tottenham’s main competitors in the race for Gallagher’s signature this summer.
This includes an update from Football Insider last week, which suggested that Villa had held talks with Chelsea over a deal for the midfielder, Spurs are expected to press ahead with an offer for the England international soon.
This was also backed up a few days ago by TEAMtalk, who said that an offer from Tottenham for the 24-year-old was imminent, with the publication adding that the player would prefer to move to North London over the Midlands.

Aston Villa may have an advantage in Gallagher race
The Guardian have now revealed that Chelsea are quite keen on securing Duran, who is valued by Villa at around £40m.
It is pointed out that the Blues want £50m for Gallagher and talks have been held between the two clubs about a potential part-exchange deal for the two players, with Unai Emery’s men open to selling the Colombian.
However, the publication adds that the Chelsea midfielder is unlikely to consent to being part of any swap deal this summer.
Spurs Web Opinion
Gallagher has a lot of power, given his contract situation and he will be the one deciding where he ends up this summer if he leaves Chelsea.
One would hope that Ange would be able to convince the midfielder that he will thrive in his system at Tottenham.
Gallagher’s future is likely to be on ice until after England’s involvement at Euro 2024 comes to an end.
Many Chelsea fans would like to see the boyhood fan remain at Stamford Bridge after he became captain and one of their best performers under former boss Mauricio Pochettino.
