Report: At least a dozen PL clubs are interested in rumoured Spurs target

The Telegraph have revealed that a whole host of Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in Bristol City starlet Alex Scott, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Scott impressed after breaking into Bristol’s starting lineup last season and the youngster has built on that this year, having started all but one Championship game this campaign, with four assists to his name so far (Transfermarkt).

The versatile teenager, who can operate as a defensive midfielder or as a wing-back, was first mooted as a target for Spurs back in the summer when Football Insider claimed that the Lilywhites were ‘compiling a dossier’ on the youngster.

Alasdair Gold also backed up the North London club’s interest in Scott at the time, reporting that the Tottenham hierarchy had discussed a move for the 19-year-old (Football.London).

The Sunday Mirror (print edition – 18/12 pg. 68) reported two weeks ago that Bournemouth had entered the race for the Bristol star ahead of January.

If The Telegraph’s latest update is to be believed, the interest in Scott’s services is heating up ahead of the January transfer window.

The report primarily discusses Wolves’ interest in the youngster but adds that Julen Lopetegui’s men will find it difficult to sign the player as he is being monitored by ‘at least a dozen top-flight’ clubs.

The publication asserts that Bristol would want a fee of more than £10m for Scott in January.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham were probably eyeing Scott as a potential option for the right wing-back role back in the summer. So, our interest in the youngster would have likely ended the moment we snapped up Djed Spence. It appears based on recent reports that Conte wants a more proven wing-back option in January, with Pedro Porro seemingly the top target.
