Report: Attacker linked with Spurs last year can be signed for just £10.6m this summer

According to a report by Sport (as relayed by Football.London), Paulo Dyaba could be signed for a cut-price thanks to a release clause in his contract with AS Roma.

Dybala was linked with a move to Tottenham in the summer of 2022, with journalist Pedro Almeida revealing at the time that Fabio Paratici had spoken with the Argentine over potentially joining the North London club.

The 28-year-old instead decided to join Roma on a free transfer after his contract with Juventus ran out last summer.

The attacker has enjoyed a very good start to life at Stadio Olimpico, having scored 10 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions so far this season (Transfermarkt), despite being sidelined for more than two months with a hamstring injury.

Sport have now revealed that Dyabala has a release clause of just €12m (£10.6m) in his current contract with Roma, which runs until 2024.

However, the report adds that the Giallorossi could soon begin talks over a new deal with the former Juve star in order to remove the release clause.

I would be surprised if Roma have not already begun talks with Dybala’s agent over a new deal. If the Argentine decides against signing one, one would expect a massive queue of clubs, including Spurs, to line up for the 28-year-old’s signature next summer, given his release clause.
