Report: Attacker offered to Spurs tells club who he wants to join

According to a report from Spanish publication Diario Sport, Antoine Griezmann, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham, has informed Barcelona that he would only agree to leave the club for a return to Atletico Madrid.

Griezmann has flattered to deceive since his big-money move from Atletico to Barcelona in 2019 and reports indicate that the Catalans are keen to cash in on the 30-year-old as they attempt to cut their wage bill this summer.

It was reported last week that Barca had offered the World Cup winner to Tottenham, as well as Manchester City.

Diario Sport have now explained that Barcelona have been handicapped in their effort to sell Griezmann as the French international has made it clear to the club that he only wants to return to the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

The report reveals that selling the forward to English or Italian clubs would be more straightforward for Barca, who have found it ‘absolutely impossible’ to reach an agreement with Atletico so far.

However, it is claimed that Griezmann is willing to take a salary cut in order to return to his former stomping ground.

Spurs Web Opinion

With reports indicating that Spurs are keen to bolster their forward line, it is not surprising that Barca have offered Griezmann to the North Londoners.

However, the French international does not fit with the profile of players Paratici seems to be going for in his attempted rebuild. So, I would be extremely surprised if Tottenham pursued Griezmann.
