Report: Austrian coach is on Spurs list to potentially replace Antonio Conte

The Daily Mail have revealed that Eintracht Frankfurt boss, Oliver Glasner, is one of the names on Tottenham’s shortlist to replace Antonio Conte at the end of the season.

Conte’s future at Spurs looks increasingly in doubt as the Lilywhites continue to struggle for consistency on the pitch.

Over the last few weeks, the likes of Mauricio Pochettino (Daily Mail) and Roberto De Zerbi (Football Insider) have been named as potential replacements for the Italian.

GiveMeSport suggested a few days ago that Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper might also be considered by the North London club.

This has now been backed up by The Mail, who say that Cooper has ‘admirers’ within Tottenham.

The publication also throws another name in Glasner, asserting that the Austrian may also become a contender for the hot seat.

The report explains that Daniel Levy has no immediate plans on replacing Conte and is expected to wait until the season ends but he may act quickly if the results decline considerably.

Glasner has done a solid job at Frankfurt, with the club currently sitting in sixth place in the Bundesliga table.

However, the 48-year-old has done well enough to be in consideration for a top-six Premier League job by any stretch of the imagination, which is why this report is quite surprising.

As things stand, there is clearly just one outstanding candidate for the job, which is Mauricio Pochettino.
