Barcelona remain interested in Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon and could be willing to offer one of their own players to complete a deal this summer (Mundo Deportivo print edition – 14/04/22 — via Sport Witness).
Reguilon has endured a difficult second campaign for Spurs this season in which he has struggled to progress following a move from Real Madrid in 2020.
The Spain international lost his place in Antonio Conte’s side to Ryan Sessegnon after having trouble shaking off a groin injury, which has now curtailed his season (90min).
But Reguilon has since reportedly been included on a list of several players Spurs will listen to offers for when the transfer window opens at the end of term (Evening Standard).
The Mirror recently claimed that Barcelona have named the left-back as a prime target this summer, with head coach Xavi Hernandez thought to be keen on strengthening his options.
And Mundo Deportivo have reinforced the Blaugrana’s interest in Reguilon, noting the 25-year-old is on their shortlist of targets to offer competition for Jordi Alba.
It adds that Barcelona could include one of their own players, who is unnamed in the report, as a ‘bargaining chip’ in a potential deal with Tottenham to try and facilitate a move.

But the LaLiga side are thought to confident of wrapping up a transfer as they have a good relationship with Reguilon’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, who also manages Aston Villa bound midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

With Reguilon’s inconsistency on the pitch and injury issues, it does make sense that Tottenham could look to try and upgrade on him this summer.
He still holds a good amount of value currently despite the mixed couple of seasons he has had and a return to Spain certainly looks like it is on the cards for him.
