Report: Barcelona enter race for Tottenham target

According to a report in the Sun, Barcelona have now joined Tottenham, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain in the race for Leicester City full-back Ricardo Pereira.

The Portuguese international has been fantastic for the Foxes since moving to the club from Porto in the summer of 2018 and he has taken his game up to a new level recently under Brendan Rodgers.

Tottenham have issues at right-back due to Serge Aurier’s inconsistency while Kyle Walker-Peters has seen very little game time, raising doubts about whether he is ready for the Premier League.

The Daily Express reported a few days ago that Spurs were readying a £30 million offer for Pereira in January but revealed that the 26-year-old was also the subject of interest from PSG and Man Utd.

Now the Sun claims that Barcelona are ready to contest the likes of Tottenham for Pereira after having sending scouts to watch the right-back in action for the Foxes recently.

Spurs Web Opinion

I have not only been impressed with Pereira’s engine and quality going forward but he is also a very good defender who isn’t prone to lapses in concentration like Aurier is. I believe he will be a fantastic addition to the squad but it looks like the club faces a serious battle to land him.
