Report: Barcelona eyeing move for PL star linked with Spurs and Arsenal

According to Spanish publication Sport, Barcelona are eyeing a move for Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, who is also rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Kante’s future appears to be up in the air, with his current contract at Stamford Bridge running out at the end of the season (Transfermarkt).

Foot Mercato claimed last week that while the Frenchman would like to stay at Chelsea, the Blues are unlikely to offer him a new contract.

The report added that Kante would prefer to remain in the Premier League and in London, with his representatives alleged to have offered him to both Tottenham and Arsenal.

The publication also claimed that while Paris Saint-Germain were keen on snapping up the midfielder, the player has no interest in returning to France.

If Sport’s latest update is to be believed, Barca could also enter the race to sign the Chelsea star next summer.

The report explains that the Catalan giants are looking for a midfielder to replace Busquets, who is set to leave his boyhood club at the end of his contract next summer.

Kante is alleged to be one of the names on Barca’s wishlist along with Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan and Liverpool’s Naby Keita.

Spurs Web Opinion

With Chelsea’s ownership now having changed, I do not think the Blues will hesitate to do business with Spurs. However, I do wonder if Kante would be reluctant to move to Tottenham as that could potentially tarnish his legacy with Chelsea fans.
