Report: Barcelona eyeing up move for Spurs flop who was sold for just £2.6m by Pochettino

According to Sport, Barcelona are eyeing Tottenham Hotspur flop Federico Fazio and rumoured Spurs target Antonio Rudiger as they look to bolster their options in central defence in January.

Fazio spent just one year at White Hart Lane before being loaned out to Sevilla and then sold to Roma for a cut-price £2.6m fee in 2016.

Despite failing to make an impression in North London, he turned out to be an outstanding bargain for Roma, going on to have a solid career in the Italian capital which saw him represent the club over 150 times in four years.

Sport reveal that Ronald Koeman wants to add experience to his backline and the Argentine is one of the players being considered.

Another option on their radar is said to be Rudiger, who was linked with a deadline day move to Spurs during the previous transfer window (Football Insider).

Spurs have also been tipped to return for the German international in January but it looks as though they could now be facing competition from the Catalan giants if they decide to move for the 27-year-old.
