Report: Barcelona keeping a close eye on these two Spurs first-team stars

Tottenham Hotspur have boasted one of the very best defensive partnerships in world football over the last few season, but that appears to now be at an end.

With Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen both the wrong side of thirty, struggling for game time in North London, and potentially leaving in the summer, Poch will have to look elsewhere in the long-term.

Toby and Jan are both in the final year of their contracts at the club and could sign pre-contract agreements with non-English clubs as early as January.

Reports indicate that Barcelona may be on the lookout for a new centre-back or two in the summer and are well-aware of some free options.

El Desmarque report that Barca are ‘very attentive’ towards the Spurs duo and Man United’s Eric Bailly and are planning on opening negotiations in the new year.

Bailly is said to be the top target due to his age, but Vertonghen is labelled as the best fit for Barcelona.
