Report: Barcelona player’s agent approves Spurs move

Spanish outlet El Desmarque have claimed that Barcelona right-back Nelson Semedo could be poised for a move to Tottenham this month after the defender’s agent approved a move to the North London side.

However, it is suggested that both Spurs and Barcelona are still quite far apart on Semedo’s valuation with the Catalan giants demanding £42.5million while Spurs are only said to value him at £30.5million.

The Portuguese right back has predominantly been the first choice at Barca since his arrival from Benfica in the summer of 2017.

However, he has found himself short of game time so far this campaign and it is reportedthat the 26-year-old is ready to move on in search of a new challenge.

Barcelona are also said to be open to letting Semedo go as they are said to be keen on bringing in Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich.

Despite the difference in Tottenham’s and Barcelona’s valuation of Semedo, it is revealed that there is optimism among the parties that a compromise can be reached.

Spurs Web Opinion

A right back should be one of the club’s priorities this month as we are desperately lacking personal in the position. Signing Semedo will provide Aurier with some stiff competition which the Ivorian certainly needs to keep him on his toes. It is clear that Kyle Walker-Peters isn’t ready yet for the first team and at 22 years of age, one wonders if his time at the club is over.
