Report: Barcelona request asking price for heavily-linked Spurs target

Barcelona have made contact with Sporting CP over a potential future transfer for Pedro Porro, according to Portuguese news outlet Record.

The report claims that the Catalan giants have enquired over the right wing-back’s asking price and could look to table a bid during the summer window, while there is also interest from fellow La Liga side Atletico Madrid.

Football.London have previously reported that Tottenham Hotspur have two priorities in the January transfer window which consist of a new attacking player and a right wing-back.

Tottenham are said to hold a strong interest in the former Manchester City player with Sporting determined to hold out for the £40m buy-out clause which was inserted into his contract following his move from the Premier League champions last summer (Daily Mail).

While Barcelona have their financial woes, the lure of the Spanish international moving to the Nou Camp would prove to be a difficult battle for Tottenham to win if they are to drag their heels over a deal.

Emerson Royal was back in the starting eleven for the FA Cup tie against Portsmouth yesterday and once again highlighted the need for an attack-minded right wing-back after he put in yet another disappointing display.
