Report: Barcelona set to offer rumoured Spurs target in swap deal

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of Barcelona players over the past few weeks.

The Lilywhites are reportedly interested in the likes of Samuel Umitit, Nelson Semedo (Sky Sports), Arthur Melo (Mundo Deportivo), Ivan Rakitic (Mundo Deportivo), and Philippe Coutinho (Football Insider).

The Sun last week that claimed that the Catalan giants were set for a fire sale as they look to reduce their wage bill due to the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and raise funds for their summer targets.

However, it appears that any hope which Tottenham have of landing a couple of the aforementioned players could be in jeopardy.

Tuttosport report that Arthur is on the verge of joining Juventus after the Italian outfit agreed to a swap deal with Barca that will see Miralem Pjanic going the other way.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail claim that Manchester City are set to intensify their efforts to land Semedo and are willing to offer Joao Cancelo to the La Liga side in exchange.

Spurs Web Opinion

Out of the five Barca stars we have been linked with, I was most excited about the possibility of us singing Arthur given the unbelievable talent that the 23-year-old possesses. However, having said that, a central midfielder isn’t really a priority for us this summer. Semedo’s proposed move to City doesn’t really concern me as much because I don’t believe he would have been much of an upgrade on Aurier.
