Report: Barcelona want teenager who is allegedly on Tottenham’s radar

Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo have revealed Barcelona are interested in a move for Ajax wunderkind Ryan Gravenberch, who is also rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Gravenberch’s impressive performances in the middle of the park for Ajax have seen him fast-tracked to the senior Netherlands side.

Fichajes.net previously revealed that Tottenham were one of several clubs tracking the 19-year-old’s progress.

The teenager has refused to rule out the prospect of leaving the Johan Cruyff in the future but made it clear that he will not be leaving on a free transfer (AD via Fabrizio Romano).

Mundo Depertivo have now revealed that Gravenberch is one of the central midfielders on Barca’s wishlist ahead of the summer transfer window.

However, the report adds that the Catalan giants may not find it easy to snap up the Ajax academy product since the youngster is also attracting interest from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Gravenberch could be available for a cut-price fee in the summer, given that he will only have 12 months left on his contract at the end of the season (Transfermarkt). However, the teenager will likely be of interest to a whole host of clubs across Europe, and so a bidding war could push his price up.
