Report: Bayern Munich are not prepared to give up on Harry Kane despite rejected bid

According to German journalist Manel Bonke, Bayern Munich are not prepared to give up on their pursuit of Harry Kane despite seeing their latest offer turned down by Tottenham.

Bayern’s €100m (£86m) offer for Kane, which was launched last Friday, was widely reported as a final take-it-or-leave-it bid, with the Bundesliga side allegedly willing to pursue other alternatives if it was turned down (Sky Sports News).

It has now emerged that Daniel Levy has sent back the offer, with The Daily Mail revealing that the Spurs chairman deemed the guaranteed portion of the fee (£73m) to be too short.

The publication added that with Kane wanting to stay at Tottenham if the transfer is not agreed upon before the club’s opening game of the season against Brentford, the 30-year-old now looks ‘increasingly likely’ to stay in North London

Bayern Munich are not giving up on Harry Kane yet

However, Bonke has now taken to social media to claim that we have not heard the last of this transfer saga just yet.

He asserted that the Bavarian club have ‘not given up’ on their pursuit of Kane and will continue to negotiate for the player.

This was backed up by Florian Plettenberg, who also reported that negotiations are still ongoing and Bayern are still fighting for Harry Kane.

Spurs Web Opinion

Right from the outset, Bayern’s tactics during the negotiations have been quite amateurish.

From publicly talking about how Spurs have no choice but to sell Kane, to setting arbitrary deadlines and making a fake take-it-or-leave-it offer, it reeks of a club who are used to just walking over others and getting what want.

Levy has been quite clear in his demands of £100m right from the very start and it is not surprising that the Tottenham chairman is sticking to his guns.
