Report: Bayern Munich could enter race for midfielder linked with Spurs

According to a report from Kicker, Bayern Munich could enter the race for RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Antonio Conte reportedly wants to make six new additions to his Spurs squad this summer, including two new midfielders (The Telegraph).

Laimer, who has been a key player for Leipzig since his move to the East German club back in 2017, is thought to be one of the options on the North London club’s radar.

Bild reported earlier this month that both Spurs and Manchester United had expressed an interest in the Leipzig star, with the Lilywhites said to have been following the 24-year-old’s progress for around two years.

Kicker have now claimed that Julian Nagelsmann would like to add a number six to his squad and Laimer is one of the players on the Bayern boss’ wishlist.

The report adds that the Austrian international is a realistic target for the Bundesliga giants since his contract with Leipzig runs out in 2023 and a renewal is ‘not in sight’.

Spurs Web Opinion

In Oliver Skipp, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Conte already has three decent options for the central midfield spots. So, I do not expect us to spend big on a midfielder this summer.

Someone like Laimer could prove to be a decent replacement for Harry Winks should the England international push for a move as the Austrian is not likely to prove too expensive.
