Report: Bayern Munich enter race for rumoured Tottenham target

Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of landing Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has potentially received a blow, with Sport Bild reporting that Bayern Munich will step up their efforts to sign the teenager.

Camavinga caught the eye with his performances in Ligue 1 last season and has continued from where he left off so far this campaign.

The 18-year-old has already been capped at international level with France and has been tipped to go right to the top.

Spurs were first linked with a move for the midfielder back in March of this year, with Sport reporting that the Lilywhites were battling Liverpool for the youngster’s signature.

Football.London reported again in the summer that Camavinga was on Spurs’ shopping list.

The midfielder’s current contract with Rennes runs out in the summer of 2022 and he has left the door open to a possible move away from Roazhon Park (AS).

It now looks like Tottenham have their task cut out if they are to swoop for the Frenchman, with Sport Bild revealing he is one of the names Bayern have prioritised.

However, the report claims that the Bavarians are only planning on making an offer for Camavinga next summer rather than during the January transfer window.
