Report: Bayern Munich enter race for Spurs-linked midfielder

According to episode 77 of Bild’s football podcast, Bayern Munich have entered the race for Porto midfielder Vitinha, who is also rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Vitinha impressed after breaking into the Porto first-team in the 2019/20 season and the 22-year-old spent the second half of last campaign on loan at Wolves, with the West Midlands club having had the option to sign him on a permanent basis for £18m (Express and Star).

However, Wolves did not take up the option and it was reported last summer that super agent Jorge Mendes offered Tottenham the chance to sign the midfielder (Mercado Azul).

Vitinha ended up staying put at Porto and he has been in excellent form for the Portuguese giants so far this campaign.

It was reported earlier this month (Il Messaggero via Lazio News 24) that Lazio were interested in snapping up the Porto star.

Bild have now revealed that Bayern Munich are also on Vitinha’s trail ahead of the summer transfer window.

The report claims that the Bundesliga outfit have been impressed by the midfielder’s performances this season and he is one of the options on Julian Nagelsmann’s wishlist.

Vitinha might not have pulled up any trees during his time at Wolves but one cannot judge him too harshly based on his spell at the Molineux Stadium, given that it is never easy for young players to hit the ground running in the Premier League.
