Report: Bayern Munich have internally discussed move for Spurs midfielder

According to Bild’s Bayern Insider podcast, Bayern Munich have internally discussed the option of re-signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Hojbjerg moved to Bayern from Danish club Brondby when he was just 17 years of age and spent four years at the club before joining Southampton in 2016, with Spurs signing him from the Saints back in 2020.

Bayern Munich interested in Hojbjerg reunion

It has now emerged that Bayern’s sports committee have discussed the idea of bringing the midfielder back to the Allianz Arena in their meeting on Tuesday.

It is explained that the Bundesliga giants are now considering Hojbjerg as an option since they have accepted that Declan Rice and Rodri could both be out of their reach.

The report states that Hojbjerg has the qualities that Thomas Tuchel wants in his number six and that the 27-year-old’s agent, Pini Zahavi, has a good relationship with the Bayern hierarchy.

This update comes on the back of a report by 90 min on Wednesday, which claimed that Spurs are listening to offers for the Dane and he would be allowed to leave if a suitable bid arrives this summer.

While it is not out of the question that Hojbjerg could adapt to Postelogou’s style of play and be a useful squad player, we have made the mistake of hanging on to players for too long over the last few years.

With the 27-year-old having two years left on his deal and his value still being quite high, this summer would be the right time to cash in on him.
