Report: Bayern Munich in talks to sign midfielder Spurs are said to be tracking

According to the print edition of German publication Kicker (13/03/22 – as relayed by Fussball News), Bayern Munich have stepped up their pursuit of Ajax teenage sensation Ryan Gravenberch, who is also thought to be on Spurs’ radar.

Fichajes.net previously revealed that Tottenham were one of several clubs tracking Gravenberch’s progress.

Kicker claim that Bayern are now keen on snapping up the 19-year-old, whose contract at Ajax runs out in 2023 (Transfermarkt).

The report claims that the Bundesliga giants have set up a meeting with Gravenberch’s agent Mino Raiola in order to discuss a potential move to the Allianz Arena in the summer.

Interestingly, the report adds that Bayern need to clear up space in their squad to sign the Ajax man and would thus be willing to move on Corentin Tolisso, who has also been linked with a move to Spurs (CalcioMercato).

Spurs Web Opinion

I would not be surprised if Conte wanted to overhaul his options in central midfield when the transfer window reopens.

Gravenberch fits the profile of players that Spurs tend to target and the fact that he will have only 12 months left on his contract in the summer means that he will not be too expensive.

However, there is always a risk involved in signing talented youngsters from the Eredivisie as one can never be sure how they would adapt to the Premier League.
