Report: Bayern Munich make player decision amid rumoured Tottenham interest

Bayern Munich have decided that they will not be offering a contract extension for Jerome Boateng amid rumoured interest from Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report in SportBild (as relayed by The Daily Mail).

The central defender has rediscovered his form under boss Hansi Flick and played a key role in their Bundesliga and Champions League triumphs last season.

The 32-year-old was reported to be on Tottenham’s radar as far back as January of this year (Bleacher Report).

Bild’s head of football Christian Falk claimed earlier this week that the North Londoners were monitoring the former Manchester City’s man’s contract situation closely, with his deal set to run out at the end of the current season.

The publication now claim that Boateng is set to leave the Allianz Arena at the end of this season following nine years at the club, with the European champions deciding against offering him a new deal.

The report claims that there is plenty of interest from the Premier League in snapping up the defender as a free agent this summer, with Tottenham set to battle their London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal for the German international’s signature.
