Report: Bayern Munich star linked with Spurs in talks over new deal – Sale ‘not realistic’ this summer

Rumoured Tottenham target Serge Gnabry is in talks with Bayern Munich over a potential new contract, Sky Germany have revealed.

Gnabry has not been a mainstay in Julian Nagelsmann’s starting eleven this season but the winger has still notched up 16 goals and 10 assists across all competitions so far (Transfermarkt).

Bild reported back in February that Spurs were exploring the possibility of snapping up the former Arsenal man whose contract at the Allianz Arena runs out in 2023.

Sport1 subsequently reported that Bayern were facing difficulties in tying down the 26-year-old down to a new contract while The Daily Star claimed last week that the Lilywhites were plotting a cut-price deal for the German international amidst his contract situation.

However, Sky Germany have now revealed that Gnabry has not yet decided against a contract extension and the winger’s entourage are engaged in talks with the Bundesliga giants.

The report rules out the possibility of the player being sold in this summer’s transfer window, simply stating that a sale ‘is not realistic’.

Spurs do not get a mention in the report but it is revealed that Real Madrid are following Gnabry’s situation closely.

The speculation over Gnabry’s future is potentially being fed to the press by the winger’s representatives in order to force Bayern to agree to the terms they are demanding on a new contract. I would be extremely surprised if the Bundesliga giants let the 26-year-old leave this summer.
