Report: Belgian club in talks over possible move for Spurs midfielder

Victor Wanyama is said to be attracting interest ahead of the closure of the European transfer window.

The Kenyan is yet to feature for Tottenham Hotspur to date during the current campaign.

Tottenham have a wide range of midfield options at their disposal with Moussa Sissoko, Eric Dier, Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli and Harry Winks all seemingly ahead of Wanyama in Mauricio Pochettino’s pecking order.

Wanyama did not travel with the Spurs squad for the pre-season tour of the Far East due to his involvement in the African Cup of Nations and missed the Audi Cup tournament in Germany due to knee issues.

According to reports in the Belgian media, Club Brugge are ready to make a late offer for the 28-year-old before their transfer window closes on September 2nd (Walfoot).

Brugge are said to be in negotiations with Tottenham over a possible deal which looks most likely to be a loan spell.

Opinion

Wanyama’s injury issues have cruelly put a halt to his career progression after what was an impressive first season at White Hart Lane following his move from Southampton.

At 28, it would be better if he moves on to get his career back on track, preferably on a permanent deal.
